Lesbian Sexual Imagery in the Fine Arts [Tee Corinne, fundraiser for A Woman’s Place]

New York: The Women’s Center, 1980. Single leaf, 8 ½ x 11 in. Lines from folding and some discoloration; holograph annotation on verso. Overall, very good. Item #10378

Flyer promoting Tee Corinne’s 1980 slideshow work “Lesbian Sexual Imagery in the Fine Arts.”

Corinne, a prominent lesbian photographer, author, and editor, was the art books columnist for the Feminist Bookstore News; a co-facilitator of the Feminist Photography Ovulars (1979–1981); and a co-founder of The Blatant Image, and self-published The Cunt Coloring Book.

The two-hour presentation explored images of women loving women as portrayed in the fine arts of the past—from Turkey, Greece, India, China, Japan, and Renaissance Europe—and in recent and contemporary images made by women.

The slideshow also doubled as a fundraiser for A Women’s Place, a feminist commune in the Adirondacks.

An important document of lesbian art theory from the
prominent lesbian-feminist photographer and art writer.
