Both of Joani Blank's two 1970s guides to sex and pleasure: one for women and one for men.
These richly illustrated companion volumes aimed to encourage sexual awareness in the reader through the questioning and reflective prompts of a workbook.
Joani Blank was the founder and editor of Down There Press, and in 1977 opened GoodVibrations, the second feminist sex shop in the United States (after New York’s Eve’s Garden). The covers were illustrated by Tee Corinne, who was a lesbian photographer, author, and artist who was active in the queer scene from the 1970s up until her death; she was one of the ten invited artists whose work was exhibited in the Great American Lesbian Art Show.
Scarce together, they exhibit a playful exploration of sexuality and serve as a historical record of progressive views on healthy sexuality in the 1970s.
