Free Hot Peaches [Androgyny in Ostendorf]
New York: Hot Peaches, 1972. 8 1/2 x 11 in. Offset. Near fine. Item #10473
Another verson of a flier for third Hot Peaches show, Androgyny in Ostendorf - described in full above.
The Hot Peaches’ first three shows were free, with later shows costing $2 and up, and their third show, Androgyny in Ostendorf, remains known for the original song, “Ying-Yang.” Given the placement of ying-yangs; the provenance, from an artist who was only involved in the earliest Peaches shows; the graphic of “Hot Peaches” in a peach (which we have only seen on other ephemera from this show) and “free,” we determined that the flier was very likely a promotion for that show - a fact now confirmed by Hot Peaches founder Jimmy Camicia.
An exceedingly rare artifact from the groundbreaking New York queer theater troupe.
Price: $450.00
